GA4 Update
What and Why:
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is replacing Universal Analytics. The current Universal Analytics API will be deprecated and will not process data after July 1, 2023. Full Circle Digital Source Tracker has been updated to use GA4 as of this release. All companies using Google Analytics integrated to Digital Source Tracker will need to add their GA4 information to Digital Source Tracker configuration in order to see GA4 data.
Where:
Your Full Circle Admin will need to make the necessary adjustments to enable Full Circle to track GA4 data in the Full Circle Digital Source Tracker configuration.
When:
GA4 integration is available as of this release. Companies need to make sure they have made the switch to GA4 before July 1, 2023, as that is when the Universal Analytics will be deprecated.
Key considerations
- Instructions to add GA4 to Digital Source Tracker
- Report Adjustments that need to be made to reflect GA4 data in Full Circle Digital Reports and Dashboards
LinkedIn Integration Updates
What:
The new LinkedIn Ad Network Integration now supports the following:
- Spend data for Video Ads, in addition to Sponsored Creative Ads
-
New LinkedIn fields for reporting ("Aggregate Database Entry" object):
- LinkedIn Campaign Name
- LinkedIn External Website Conversions
- LinkedIn One Click Leads
Sync Digital Touchpoint data from any user
What:
There is a setting in the DST Touchpoint configuration called "Designated Users". DST will only sync Digital Touchpoint data to campaign members created by one of the specified users added to this list (generally the Marketing Automation user).
We've added the ability to not restrict syncing of digital touchpoint data based on the user who created the campaign member, so that digital campaign member records will have digital touchpoint data synced to them regardless of the user creating them.
Why:
There have been circumstances where digital data has stopped being synced because the assigned Designated Users(s) is no longer valid, either due to an employee that was being used, that left the company, or the user that creates your digital campaign members changes due to an async scheduler restart or any other reason.
With this new setting enabled, there would be no disruption in DST data being synced due to any of the above circumstances with the Designated User.
Where:
The new setting is in the DST Touchpoint Capture configuration settings as shown below:
Key considerations
- If you currently have a named user (current employee) as your Designated User, you may want to consider updating to this new configuration option to prevent any lapses in DST data in the case that the employee leaves.
- If you are currently using an automated user from your Marketing Automation Platform, and that's where all of your digital campaign member records are being created from, you can likely leave the setting as it is.
- Even if you enable this setting, digital data will only synced to campaign members created under a campaign with the "Capture Digital Touchpoint Data" checkbox enabled.
