Common Reasons Why Opportunity Association Doesn't Associate
1. Opportunities and Responses are in different accounts
Opportunity Association currently works only on Responses within the same Account as the Opportunity, even if the Primary Contact Role is on a different Account.
2. Search range is too short
When configuring Opportunity Association, you configured a date range (in days) of how far back from the Opportunity Created Date to search for a response. The default value is 365. If otherwise valid responses are older than that, they will not associate.
There are two configurations:
- "How far back to look for an eligible response?" This response specifies how many days prior to the Opportunity Created Date to search for non-Active Responses.
- "Apply Timeframe to Active Response?" If you choose to, you can apply the number of days in the prior configuration to Active Responses as well.
3. The Campaign Member was created after the Opportunity
Opportunities associate to Campaign Members upon creation. Therefore, if a Campaign Member is created even several seconds after the Opportunity, it won't be eligible for association.
