There are several reasons why you might not see digital touchpoint data on a campaign member that is part of a digital campaign:
- By default DST respects the user’s tracking preferences, so we do not track any users that have indicated in their browser preferences that they do not want to be tracked and thus have the DoNotTrack request header set to block tracking. As a customer of Full Circle, you have the option of overriding this behavior so that our JavaScript will ignore that browser setting for visitors of your site(s). To modify this behavior, contact your FCI Account Manager.
- Google Tag Manager is blocked by many of the most popular ad/tracking-blocking tools. If you are using Google Tag Manager to place the DST script on your pages, it could result in the script not getting included on the page which would prevent tracking. We recommend placing the DST script directly on your pages in the <head> tag.
- Occasionally, the DST script will encounter network errors, which prevent successful calls to our API. This makes some touchpoints unable to track and save to our AWS database.
- Digital touch data for a page view in AWS will only be sync'd to a single campaign member record in Salesforce. This is done to avoid double counting. If you are seeing some campaign members with no digital data, it is possible that there is another campaign member for the lead/contact that has the data already synched to it. Take a look at all campaign members for th lead/contact to see if this is the case.
- If the last touchpoint for a particular lead/contact occurred over 24 hours before the form-fill campaign member got created, then DST creates a new Anonymous Digital Touch Campaign member and populates the last touchpoint data there instead of on the form-fill campaign member. This is to avoid syncing touchpoint data to an unrelated form-fill campaign member.
