On the Advanced Configuration page, you'll find a configuration setting called "Disable First Owner Setting." This setting is checked by default. Un-checking it enables the First Owner feature, which populates the following Campaign Member fields:
- First Owner Type: First Owner Assigned Type - User or Queue
- First Owner Assigned: First Owner (non-queue) assigned a response
- First Queue Assigned: If first owner assigned is a lead queue (queue name will be set here)
- First Owner Worked: First Owner to set a lead/contact status to a working status when the response is active
How it works
First Owner Type: This field is a picklist with two values; 'User' and 'Queue'. This field will be populated on the Active Response based on whether the Lead/Contact was assigned to a user or a queue when the response was created.
First Owner Assigned: This lookup field will populate on the Active Response with the name of the Lead/Contact owner when the response was created. If a Lead is assigned to a Queue when the response is created, the field will still be populated next time the Lead is assigned to a user.
First Queue: This text field will be populated with the name of a Queue, if the Lead is assigned to a queue when the response is created.
First Owner Worked: This field will be populated with the Lead/Contact Owner when the response is set to a working status.
Reasons to keep the "Disable First Owner Setting" feature disabled
- This feature has been replaced by Funnels User Tracking, which allows you to configure funnel tracking any way you like. If you use Funnels, First Owner Settings offers no benefits to you, so it should remain disabled.
- Default Active Status Overrides will not work in conjunction with First Owner Settings. When you enable First Owner Settings, the entire "Default Active Status Overrides" section will disappear from the Status Mapping Configuration page.
Reasons to enable First Owner Settings
We highly recommend using the Funnels feature which eliminates the need for First Owner Settings. However, if you are not using the Funnels feature or Default Active Status Reactivation feature and want to track the Lead/Contact owner when a response becomes active or working, then the First Owner Settings feature may work for you.
Clearing the fields
If you clear any of the First Owner fields, they may re-populate next time the Lead or Contact owner is changed. Best practice is to clear all four fields if you clear any.
